We may collect personal identity information when you comment, subscribe to Lavender Prose or ScribeKit newsletters, enter giveaways, or simply visit the site.  You do always have the option to use the site anonymously.

We will never sell your information, but there are a few third-parties who will have access to it; namely our email service provider and our comment service provider.

We might use some of your general information (IP address, country, etc.) for statistical purposes, but it will never be associated with your name or email address.  

We will not ask for anything except for your name and email address when you comment or subscribe to the site or newsletter; so you don't need to worry that we might ask for your bank information or anything similar.  
The reason we do ask for the information we gather is so that your comments or subscriptions aren't marked as spam, and so (if you subscribe) we can send you our newsletter.

The exception to this rule is if we are hosting a giveaway; if you win a giveaway, we will need your mailing address.  But any information gathered when hosting a giveaway will be deleted once that giveaway is over.

Complying with the children's online privacy protection act, I will not, as far as it depends on me, gather the information of anyone under 18 years of age.

Lavender Prose will contain links to outside sites, but we am not responsible for those sites and they have their own privacy policies.


Ordering a ScribeKit or Writing Course:

The information we collect from you during the ordering process will NOT be shared to anyone except the third-parties who handle processing the orders.  (Squarespace orders go through Stripe.)

We won't keep any of your information except what we need for tax purposes.

We won't sell any of your information.

In the case of custom kits:  We would NEVER steal any of your intellectual property.  It is yours and yours alone.  We ask for information on your writing project so that we can customize the kit we send to you!
You can always fill in the form with N/A.  

Editing Services:

Lavender Prose will collect the information you provide in the application form in order to determine if we would be a good fit for working together.  The form is submitted through Squarespace.
It will never be sold or shared.

Invoices for services are sent via Square.
 

Cookies:

Lavender Prose uses cookies to gather statistical information and use your preferences from earlier use of the site.  Cookies are shared from your web browser to your hard drive and store records and track information.  They do not provide any personal information.  You can disallow a site to use cookies, but it may not work as well.  You can change your preferences concerning cookies in your browser's settings.

Your use of Lavender Prose in any capacity means that you agree to this policy.  If you take issue with it, you can opt out at any time by not using the site.  If you have been added to the mailing list, you can always opt out of those emails at any time.

If at any time this policy is changed or updated, the date of that change will be noted at the bottom of this page; we will not notify you of these changes, but you are more than welcome to check if any changes have been made whenever you want to.

Use of the Site and Services

Account Creation
In order to use some features of the site or its services, you may be required to provide personal information, such as your name, email address, and other personal information.  By registering on the site in any capacity you agree that any information you provide is up to date and accurate.  
You shall not provide any false information or impersonate another person; your account must not be used for any illegal purposes.  Any actions you take on the site or in using any of its services must not violate any laws of your jurisdiction.  

 

Limitation of Liabilities
Lavender Prose is a site that strives to form connections with its readers via comments and sharing on social media, as well as guest posts.  However, we are not responsible for the things that other people say.  If there is a comment that you find offensive, or someone states an opinion you disagree with, or there is inappropriate content in a comment or the like, it doesn't necessarily reflect our views and we are not at fault.  If there is inappropriate or rude content in a comment, though, please feel free to let us know so that we can take the steps to getting rid of it--because we want the site to be a fun and encouraging place for everybody.
We do not allow harassment, vulgar, or explicit language.  We also do not allow links to such content or images.  Posting such content will have consequences.

Similar to what is stated above, just because we promote something on the site doesn't necessarily mean you will have the same opinion of it that we do; we are free to state our opinions and we are not responsible for yours.

This site also links to outside sites, but we am not responsible for them and they have their own Terms and Conditions.
