Another Step Closer to Your Publishing Dreams

After having that wonderful manuscript of yours beta-read by half a dozen bookworms, you took that constructive criticism to heart and got to work!  You've spent countless hours editing the heck out of it and now you're nearly finished!  Yay!!!

Now all you need to do to that manuscript is make sure it looks pretty!  You've typed an awful lot of words (maybe even words you came up with!), and you've written enough dialogue to make a chatterbox blush . . . there's bound to be some typos in there somewhere.  After all, you've been focusing on the big picture, not whether or not "its" needs an apostrophe!

It's time to focus on those little details, now--and that's something I want to help you with!

Here's How

My proofreading services aren't nearly as complicated as my beta-reading!  You'll send me your manuscript and I will look for typos or grammatical errors--it's almost ridiculously simple!

I need to point out that I am not a certified proofreader by any means.  But I've been reading books almost my entire life and I've always had a keen eye for misspellings and wonky punctuation.  (Ask anyone who knows me; I've been proofing papers for family and friends for ages!)
I definitely don't charge what a professional would though, either.  XD

There seems to be an attitude out in the book blogging world that indie authors are lazy or just not good simply because they don't go the traditional publishing route.  This is ridiculous--and not in the funny way!  I know that you've put so much work into your manuscript (your baby!) and it deserves to be read!
Your manuscript has amazing potential and it deserves a whole lot of love!
However, because there is this attitude out there, you need to be extra cautious about typos; I don't want your story to be dismissed too quickly because you've used the wrong "your".

So let me do my part to help get rid of that stigma about indie authors . . . because you really are amazing and I love what you do!

"Lavender Prose has been a constant source of aid for me with all of my books, most especially the proofread service. RaeAnne is a professional, kind, and understanding person who makes it an absolute joy to work with her. She has shown me over and over again how much of a reader she truly is by demonstrating how much she catches with every proofread. The errors she finds were always passed over by the many professional editors I'd already had look at the work. Her suggestions helped me make a much needed extra polish over tricky sentences and concepts. We've been working together on many projects over the last year, and I've been thanking my lucky stars I found her ever since. Trust her reading experience and her eye for detail for your work, you'll be happy you did!"

Starting at Only $30!
Here's How it Works

Application and Acceptance ~ Once you've applied, I will let you know whether or not your book would be a good fit for me.  If it isn't, I'll let you know.
If it is and you are accepted I will ask that you send me your manuscript (preferably via Google Docs to make the process a bit smoother) and the first half of your payment, and I'll get started as soon as I can!

Send Your Manuscript ~ I will let you know the day I get your manuscript!  Once I have it, I will also let you know the time I intend to work on it.  Due to my schedule and wanting to do a good job (I'll be reading through your book twice!), I want to carve out at least 2 weeks in my calendar.  Regardless of when that will be, I will let you know!

Receiving Your Proofread Manuscript ~ Once I've finished proofreading your manuscript, I'll let you know!  It will have any typos highlighted and if I need to elaborate on anything, there will be comments.  :)  At this time, I will also ask you for the second half of your payment!

Encouragement ~ I'll be sending you an e-mail 2 weeks after you've received your manuscript!  I'll ask you how it's going and will give you encouragement!  (I know you've got this!)
